Alan J. Pakula

A pretty cool guy who made pretty good movies from the 50s to the 90s.

All the President's Men (1976) -- Essential 70s stuff, a great movie for many reasons: the history, the detective drama, the acting, the writing, the direction, the set designs... it's just really great. You should wash it down with the comedy Dick afterward. It's a perfect pairing. A

The Pelican Brief (1993) -- The All the President's Men style has dulled by this point, making this a very stale and boring movie. C
