Krapp's Last Tape (2000) -- Made for the "Beckett on Film" project, this one hour movie stars William Hurt as Krapp, an old man who records tapes of himself, later playing them back and realizing he is amused or disgusted by the man he used to be, as well as the man he is now.  In the end, love seems to be the only constant, but even that becomes an unbearable longing.  Egoyan shoots the movie very simply, with very few shots, and allows William Hurt and Beckett's words to do their stuff.
