Christian Charles

Director of Comedian.

Comedian (2002) -- Though this documentary doesn't reveal anything especially new for anyone who already has even a medium-sized interest in standup comedy, it's well worth watching. Watching Jerry Seinfeld is great and watching all the other greats (George Shapiro, a very funny and likeable Colin Quinn, Chris Rock, Garry Shandling, Jay Leno, and the god-like Bill Cosby) is wonderful. A little less than half of the movie follows dickwad comedian Orny Adams who feels that the world owes him a living and that he should get immediate respect just because he works hard ("works hard" in this case meaning that he's hyperactive and self-absorbed and obsessive, all in bad ways). Certainly one of the most impossible-not-to-hate people ever put on the screen. B
