Gary Nelson

TV director who did occasional big-screen work for Disney.

Indifferent Freaky Friday (1976) -- From what I remember, Jodie Foster is pretty good as the kid acting like her mother, though I also remember the movie devolving into a big car chase where the car hits the corner of a wall and gets split in two.  Even watching this as an elementary school student, I thought it was a little too "freaky" to fit with the established premise.

Indifferent The Black Hole (1979) -- Disney decided to do a "lite" version of both Star Wars and 2001: A Space Odyssey, with not-too-great results.  Everything looks pretty good, but it's not action-packed or character-driven enough to be Star Wars, nor thoughtful and profound enough to be 2001.
