Bartleby (2001) -- A movie of the Melville story "Bartleby the Scrivener," one that keeps pretty close to the story (almost too close sometimes--forcing odd-sounding dialogue into these modern actors' mouths in their modern setting) and does an overall competent job with the always-perfect Crispin Glover playing Bartleby. It suffers from its own surreal goofiness sometimes, looking mostly like a rip-off of Alan Rudolph's Breakfast of Champions (not a good idea at all), right down to using Glenne Headly as a dopy semi-sexy secretary.
