City of God (2002) -- Directed with Fernando Meirelles. This movie gets almost universal praise for being the best movie ever made, the cure for cancer, one million orgasms, etc. To me, it looks like the same "edgy" editing style that we've seen for the past fifteen years or so, with a typical and boring gangster story, and nothing going for it except the odd worship of shiny Brazilian bodies. The pages and pages of five-star reviews on Netflix would have you believe otherwise, however.
