Louis J. Gasnier

Frenchy early director.

Indifferent Reefer Madness (1936) -- Sure, I can see that the pot stuff is kinda funny in a "we know so much more now" kind of way (the funniest part to me being the kids initially wanting to stay away from the marijuana, preferring to stick with the much-less-dangerous cigarettes and booze), but I chose to watch this as a regular movie, and it wasn't too bad in that regard--at least as far as low-budget movies from the mid-thirties go.  I would be too bored, I guess, watching this ironically in order to hate the government.  I didn't like the movie that much, but I wasn't bored with it either, and some of the plots were mildly captivating.
