Battleship Potemkin (1925) -- For me, this is one of those movies that I can
appreciate on a technical level (apparently Eisenstein perfected the
montage, for example), but I prefer what later filmmakers did with the
innovations of this movie. Still, some bits are interesting to watch even
today.
