Suggested first purchase: Les Miserables (Complete Symphonic Recording)
Les Miserables (Complete Symphonic Recording) (1990) -- This version is the only version to contain the entire musical, so it's what you should get if you want it. The music itself is pretty good as far as big fat 80s musicals go (it's better than The Phantom of the Opera), even if it already sounds a bit dated. B
Miss Saigon (Original London Cast) -- When this came out, I was a big fan of musicals, and I didn't like it much then (even though "The Heat Is On In Saigon" was always a nice opening). D
