Danny Elfman

Danny Elfman, the bouncy movie soundtrack guy.

Suggested first purchase: Music for a Darkened Theater Vol. 1

Music for a Darkened Theater Vol. 1 (1990) -- No one really needs to buy all of the Danny Elfman soundtracks, but anyone who's a fan of his movie music should have these collections. They have put them together very well, representing all of his major works to this date (and some not-so-major works too). A

Edward Scissorhands (1990) -- Although usually the Music for a Darkened Theater collections give you enough Elfman from each movie, it's nice to have this entire soundtrack because it's one of his best and most subtle, and if you're ever in the mood for an hour of this music, you need to come here. B

Music for a Darkened Theater Vol. 2 (1996) -- Another great collection of Elfman's music, this time in two discs. By this point, Elfman's more or less plagiarising himself (and Raymond Scott), but with such good material to steal, who cares. A
