Christmas Caravan (1998) -- I sort of liked Squirrel Nut Zippers when this album came out, and I basically bought it because of the little essay that Tom Maxwell wrote in his liner notes about Christmas, since it's pretty much the exact same way I felt. I somehow hoped those sentiments would come across in the music. They didn't, but it didn't matter because the album was pretty good anyway. Interestingly enough, it seemed more like a regular album with a Christmas theme than an all-out Christmas album, which is nice if you're wanting to hear it at other times during the year. Sure to not be a Christmas classic except among the most zany kids. B
